,POSITION SUMMARY:
The Design Intern will engage in a variety of clerical and administrative duties and tasks to provide day-to-day operational support for our design office as well as our Design department.
ROLE PRIORITIES:
- Provide design-related support for samples and sketches.
- Assist in preparation for meetings, including compiling and organizing materials.
- Assist with the coordination and management of photoshoot logistics.
- Provide general administrative support, including processing mail, shipping packages, organizing, scanning, and distributing documents.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design Operations Administrative Tasks
- Assemble print boards, print rings, printed fabric strike offs and organize onto rings or boards.
- Organize fabric headers, rings, and binders. Assist with fabric samples headers, taking notes, and shipping.
- Coordinate with the Design team on the daily distribution of sketches for approval.
- Receive and track garment and fabric quality samples and organize these samples for meetings.
- Receive and track collection lines. Set up system to track feedback and action items.
- Working with the production sample coordinator and team to send out Stacey’s TOPS when available.
- Work with the Design team to prepare for meetings, including the collection and organization of designs, fabrics, prints and samples.
- Print out and organize line sheets (product information) each week.
General Administrative Support
- Open and distribute mail/packages, process returns.
- Organize and scan documents.
- Prepare for meetings; print, collate, and distribute materials in advance.
- Organizing department samples.
- Other administrative tasks as needed.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience in fashion; design, product development, or marketing.
- Highly organized; excellent attention to detail, ability to prioritize responsibilities, work under tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- An excellent communicator; strong written, verbal, and listening skills. Can understand and follow directions.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a positive, collaborative style.
- A resourceful self-starter who can work independently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
SALARY: $16.50/hour
