TITLE: TAILOR / SEAMSTRESS

REPORTS TO: STORE MANAGEMENT

In store Tailor will be responsible for modifying, altering, and repairing customer garments. This individual must have previous professional experience as either a tailor or designer, and must have a strong understanding of fabrications, embroidery techniques, customer measurements, and sewing skills. The in-store Tailor is intended to provide an elevated level of customer service within our retail boutiques.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Exhibit strong communication skills when discussing fit + alterations directly with clients.
• Must be comfortable to fit garments directly on the customer and to provide fit recommendations in the moment.
• Must have the ability to modify garments according to customer instructions including but not limited to: tapering pant legs/sleeve lengths, removing pockets, adjusting waistlines/straps, re-attaching buttons, and correcting beadwork.
• Exhibit strong time management skills, providing customers with timelines and adhering to said timelines.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Previous professional experience in a similar role
• Ability to use a sewing machine
• Ability to constantly bend, open, lift, carry and move merchandise
• Continuous standing and walking; ability to move around all store areas and be accessible to customers
• Ability to occasionally climb ladders as needed
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holiday

SALARY/BENEFITS:

• $60,000-$65,000/yr.
